Color-coded channelnode view cards in the "Included" and "Included in" tabs - multi-tentant solutions

Please, fill in the below fields to enable the processing of your idea.

Who would benefit?

Customers and partner with multi-tenant solutions

What impact would it make?

Better UX. Easier identification location of products in multiple channelnodes in multiple channels.

We have a large multi-tenant solution with a customer, and we can ONLY distinguish between which channelnodes belong to which channels, by setting values in displayname/display description. We do not find this ideal.

How should it work?

We would like to be able to add color-coded channelnode view cards for clear indication of ownership in the multi-tentant solution.

So perhaps a setting in CC where you set per channel, brand or segment in solution can define which color-code should be added to view cards in each channel, brand or segment.

Why is it needed?

Inriver is not strong in this aspect for multi-tenant solution, overview is not easily obtained.

    Hi Karin.

I've worked with Line on the project in mind, and can add some additional information.

Our users are all a part of the same company, but are located in "local" business units across the World. Each business unit sells the same products (etc "Green shoe"), but each business unit has their own channel (and thus channel nodes).

Each of the users of 7 different business units all same the same product, and each user wants to answer the question:

    • Is this product included in my LOCAL channelnode for "Mens shoes"?

If the user visits the "Included in"-section on the product today, they might see 7 different channelnodes called "Mens shoes" - one belonging to each Channel corresponding with each local business unit, since they all have a category on their webshop called "Mens shoes".

If the channelnode "Mens Shoes" that belonged to the french business unit had a BLUE border (or similar identifier), the user would immediately be able to tell if the product was included in his/her local channelnode/channel. Instead, the user has to click each channelnode and check which specific channel the channelnode itself is included in.

We realize that it is possible to utilize the decription-field on the entity for purposes such as this. We do however already use abbreviations and other codes in the description-field, and cannot fit everything in that space. A color would make sense.

I hope this clarifies the issue a bit.

    Hi Line,
Can you describe a bit more in what context it is that the user need to have this color coded information? Is it when looking at the Included in tab on the linked Nodes to understand what channels they belong to?
    Kind regards, Karin
