Who would benefit? |
Users downloading product information from Brand Store needs to limit what kind of resources to include in the download so that they only get the resources that are relevant. We have PDF-files with information (one per language-17 languages) and the user would benefit from selecting the relevant language so that they only get the relevant files for their selected language in the download. Language is a field on the resource entity that we would like to use as a filter when doing a download. |
What impact would it make? |
This would decrease the size of the downloads and the user can focus on the relevant data and would not get files in languages that are not relevant to them. |
How should it work? |
When setting up a Brand Store you can configure what field to use to filter out relevant resources when doing a download. This can be an optional setting. In this way it would be a generic solution that any customer with this need can use to setup a filter with their preferred parameter from the resource entity. |
Why is it needed? |
This is needed to filter out irrelevant resources based on the preference of the end user doing the download. |

This feature in now being developed and we are planning for it to be released by the end of August if everything goes as planned. Look out in the release notes.

In the Store Admin we are adding a new configuration option for "Download filters":
You will be able to add up to three filters based on CVL fields on the Resource entity to use as filters when downloading data and can choose if they should be single or multi select options:
The filter fields that have been configured will be available to the store user when downloading data to get a subset of the media assets in the download zip-file:

This is a highly desired feature. We would also like the ability to select a Resource field that could be used as a filter in the Brand Store (when downloading).
