Who would benefit? |
All PIM Users |
What impact would it make? |
Time savings/easier navigation |
How should it work? |
When a user uses the query editor to return a search, the user should be able to save the entire query or save only the selected entities to a work area. Today, if you query and save, the system will save the entire scope of the query's returned entities even if you selected a smaller subset to save instead. |
Why is it needed? |
To improve user quality of life |
Additional feedback, background or context:
Customer update: ELC still thinks that this should be a feature request because it reduces the number of steps and just makes more sense for a user. If select works today for Export and Update, it's just natural for it to work for Save as well
I think this is a knowledge gap issue, not a feature request. The user can already today:
1) Save the query, so the query can be reused later
2) Save the search result (entities) by selecting "Save" from the search result context menu, so they all can be fetched later
3) Use "Split" and move the entities you want to keep into a new workarea, save the new workarea by selecting "Save" from the new workarea context menu, so the subset can be fetched later.
