Enable attribute-level conditions when searching for entities missing linked entities in Query Editor

How:

Extend Query Editor to allow users to query entities where a specific linked entity does NOT exist based on attribute conditions, e.g.
“Return entities where no linked entity matches X criteria”, without requiring Expression Engine workarounds or custom logic.

Why:

Today, Query Editor does not support true negative existence checks on linked entities with attribute filters. This makes it difficult or impossible to express common data quality and completeness scenarios directly in the UI.

For Who:

PIM users

Impact:

  • Enables more powerful and intuitive queries

  • Improves support for data quality, completeness, and governance use cases

  • Reduces need for custom expressions and external solutions

  • Makes Query Editor more flexible and aligned with real-world PIM needs

Additional context:

Many real-world scenarios require identifying entities that are missing a specific type of related data (e.g. documents, assets, references, classifications). Today this cannot be reliably achieved in Query Editor using link conditions alone, which limits its effectiveness as a core data quality and analysis tool.

Please, add your suggestion and feedback above to add to the insights used by Product team when deciding priorities and direction of the Inriver PIM.

Hi, some time ago the option has been added to search for a missing relationship but with a specific condition on a field in that entity. Example attached, or is this not what you're looking for?
