Who would benefit? |
Content Editors |
What impact would it make? |
Reduce complexity of finding/managing relationships, Increase process efficiency |
How should it work? |
Provide list of relationships that meet search criteria (eg Items that are Inactive with Product assignments). Per selected result items, allow linked entities (eg Products/any other related entities) to be removed completely or replaced by another entity |
Why is it needed? |
Manual management of relationships is time consuming, imports/exports require work outside of Inriver and do not meet all required scenarios. |
Additional feedback, background or context: Demo of new workflow feature showed promise in providing one-stop solution for managing large amounts of data with configured workspace, but not relationships. Many of our Item entity data requirements are managed via data feeds, therefore the primary tasks for content editors are usually more focused on relationships. Product lifecycle data changes are a trigger that is difficult to manage at scale with manual relationship management. This concept could also be expanded to mass update associated media or other relationship-based connections.
Hello Kathy,
Thank you for contributing here in the ideas portal.
The Workspace concept allows you as a inriver Administrator to upload your own Custom Workspace as an HTML template.
I'm confident that together with a partner you are able to build what you describe above. But, resulting in a customisation in your environment.
In Product Development we are focused in providing a Standard Workspace for our customer that allows you to edit data in a grid/table view, as shown at PIMpoint.
Here we have the intention to add the possibility to manage relations in a later version. As of today, it manages only attributes and values.
As it is a table we are playing with some different alternatives of how a good user experience can be to manage relations/links in a table.
As an example the possibility to create CVLs based on search results, as you describe above, is one option that has been on the table.
This idea aligns well with our thinking but has not yet reached a higher place in our priority list. Voting here helps this gain importance.
