Extend the REGEX function from validation to transformation

Higher data quality, less rework

How should it work?

With the recent change of RegExp being available on localestring fields it would be great if regex.replace could be used to control automatic replacement of non-desire characters.

Why is it needed?

It gives you a tool to automatically control user input of undesired characters so data quality can be increased om the fly instead of afterwards after a validation / error / complaint.
