How: Enhance the Plan & Release > Publications page to provide better management capabilities for publications, including:
Sort publications by name, created date, modified date, or publish date.
Allow ascending/descending sorting.
Add search and filtering options.
Optionally support folders, categories, or favorites/pinning for frequently used publications.
Provide list and grid view options for easier navigation.
Why: As the number of publications grows, the current fixed tile layout becomes increasingly difficult to manage. Publications appear in a predefined order with no ability to sort or reorganize them, making it time-consuming to locate the correct publication. This impacts productivity for users who work with many active and historical publications.
For Who: Organizations that manage numerous print publications, catalogs, mailers, inserts, and other release projects through Plan & Release.
Impact: Reduces time spent searching for publications.
Improves usability and scalability as publication counts increase.
Makes day-to-day management of publication projects more efficient.
Reduces the risk of selecting the wrong publication.
Improves the overall user experience for teams managing dozens or hundreds of publications.
Additional context: Our organization currently has 27 publications configured for the last 6 months, and that number continues to grow. Because publications cannot be sorted or reorganized, locating a specific publication has become increasingly difficult. The screenshot illustrates the current interface, where all publications are displayed as tiles without any management or sorting capabilities. As more publications are added, this issue will continue to worsen.
I've attached a screen shot of our current view in the PIM of the 27 publications. As we continue to build more publications this year and start working on publications for 2027 this is going to become very unorganized. We need to keep he publications in the system for history of where products and items have been featured as we need that history for our product team and when requested by suppliers.
Please, add your suggestion and feedback above to add to the insights used by Product team when deciding priorities and direction of the Inriver PIM.
